Patna: Cake shop owner shot dead during loot by unidentified assailants

Patna: Cake shop owner shot dead during loot by unidentified assailants

In an appalling incident that happened in Patna, where a cake shop owner was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Saturday night. The incident took place at Surya Apartments on Fraser Road.

The deceased has been identified as Purshottam Kumar, who owns two cake shops near Dakbungalow roundabout and Maurya Lok. Out of which he owns a famous cake shop namely Pals cake shop.

The victim was rushed to the Patna medical college & hospital after he was shot and was declared dead by the doctors.

According to the reports, four unidentified men on two bikes tried to loot Kumar’s bag that was filled with cash while he was going somewhere on his bike, but when he tried to resist, the assailants shot him on the chest before fleeing from the spot.

A case has been registered at the Gandhi Maiden Police station and the Station House officer said that they have recovered two cartridges from the spot and the investigation of the matter is underway. The police are not sure whether Kumar was going from his residence with cash on bike or not.

This is not the first time such incident has happened, earlier this month, a similar incident happened at Bihar’s Muzaffarpur area where the armed miscreants shot a printing press owner to loot Rs 22,000 from the owner.
