Patna: Man bluffs US girl in the name of love for Rs 56 lakh

Patna police arrested a thug identified as Jyoti Ranjan, who bluffed a US engineer girl for lakhs of money. The accused cheated the girl Parul Verma, by trapping her into fake love story where the accused allegedly portrayed himself as the owner of a big company. The accused even tried to impress the girl by lying that Indian cricketer M S Dhoni is the brand ambassador of his company.

The detained allegedly bluffed Parul for Rs 56 Lakh. According to the officials report, Ranjan was clever to visit Parul all the way to US on regular basis to omit any suspicion on him. Ranjan was about the ask for another Rs 5 lakh but the girl had doubts following which she visited Patna and lodged an FIR in Rajiv Nagar police station.

The matter in under investigation to find more in the case.

Backstory –

Parul Verma, a resident of UP, is a software engineer in America. In 2016, Jyoti Ranjan came in contact with Parul Verma. He described himself as the owner of IntelIvr Technology Private Limited Company. In order to impress Parul at the wedding, he made a fake news and made cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni his brand ambassador.
