Petrol Rate in India on June 9 2023: Daily, Indian Oil Companies released new prices for unleaded and diesel. Friday’s petroleum price remains unchanged. Since last year, Indian oil companies have not increased the price of unleaded and diesel. The stable price of petroleum has provided the public with relief. It is unquestionably a significant relief for the common man in light of the elevated inflation.

In times of inflation, when the price of every good is rising, people receive solace because the price of petrol and diesel remains constant. Following global benchmark prices, public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) released their pricing daily.

On the global market, the price of crude oil has decreased. WTI crude has decreased in price to $78 per barrel, while Brent crude has risen to $85 per barrel.

On Friday, the price of a litre of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 106.31, in Kolkata it is Rs 106.03, in New Delhi it is Rs 96.72, and in Chennai, it is Rs 102.63. It is a relief for the common folk once more.

Effects on international markets

Since several days ago, the price of crude oil on the international market has been steadily falling. The price of WTI crude has decreased to approximately $ 85.61 per barrel and the price of Brent crude has decreased to approximately $ 91.63 per barrel.

Earlier on May 21, the government lowered taxes. The excise duty on petrol and diesel was reduced by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre, respectively. Since then, the cost of petrol and diesel has decreased. Following this, petroleum became cheaper in the country by Rs 9.50 and Rs 7 per litre. Following the central government’s announcement, the administrations of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Kerala also reduced VAT.

Currently, petrol costs Rs 96.72 per litre in Delhi, while diesel costs Rs 89.62 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol costs Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel costs Rs 94.27 per litre. Whereas petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel Rs 92.76 per litre. In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 102.63 per litre and diesel costs Rs 94.24 per litre.
