Prahlad Bhai Damodardas Modi, brother of PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday demanded CBI inquiry against Uttar Pradesh government in connection with implementation of Food Security Scheme. Prahlad Modi has alleged that there was huge corruption in implementation of ‘doorstep delivery scheme’ under the National Food Security Act, and has asked for CBI probe into the matter.

As a senior Vice-president of All India Fair Price Shop Dealer Federation, Modi, while addressing the media in Varanasi on Tuesday, said that under National Food Security Act 2013, there is a provision of payment of Rs 17 to ration shop owners for doorstep delivery but they were not getting the due amount. He further alleged that the government officials were not ready to talk about the huge money corruption in the scheme.

“It is our demand that the UP government follows the Central Government’s order and give due rights to the fair price shop holders,” said Modi adding that the commission of dealers should be enhanced.

Modi said that he came to Varanasi on the request of dealers to raise their voice from his holy land.
