Ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2019, the police-administration has started preparing itself with the political parties. In order to monitor any kind of objectionable content on social media during elections, Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters has constituted Social Media Complaint Cell.

According to reports, WhatsApp number 9792101616 has been issued by DGP Headquarters. People from all over the state will be able to register their grievances. The complaints coming on the Whatsapp will be sent to the crime branch of the respective districts. In the districts where there are cyber police stations, these complaints will be sent to the police station.

IG (law and order) Praveen Kumar said that SP Cyber Crime Sushil Ghule has been made the nodal officer of Social Media Complaint Cell. People will be able to complain about Whatsapp on any form of objectionable propaganda done on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Instagram, through any means of social networking sites. You can complain on this number through text, video or voice clip and screenshot.

This number will be available for 24 hours. According to the news, DGP OP Singh will himself review the action taken in these complaints. The Nodal Officer will inform them about the details of the complaints and their actions every day.
