Chhattisgarh assembly polls which are scheduled for November 2018, all major contenders including BJP, Janta Congress Chhattisgarh and Congress have geared up for the battle. And to take the battle further, Congress has played a masterstroke after including Priyanka Gandhi’s name in star campaigners list, sources claimed.
As per the sources, Congress party has finalized the star campaigners list including Priyanka Gandhi, Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and many more for Chhattisgarh. Priyanka Gandhi’s name could be a big boost for the party in the state, where Congress is looking to end up his 15 years of exile, a report said.
Political experts also claimed that Priyanka Gandhi’s role as a star campaigner could be a game changer in the state, where current BJP government is facing anti-incumbency after three straight terms. Priyanka Gandhi is expected to visit tribal areas of Chhattisgarh including Bastar and Kanker.
Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, an eminent politician and speaker is another big name in the list of star campaigners, who could work as a catalyst for state Congress.
Star campaigners will spearhead the party’s ideology and future plans in their assigned areas in the run-up to the assembly polls. Voting will be done in two phases, including November 12 and November 20.
