With Assembly polls on the doorstep, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday launched a few hundreds of projects to woo voters.

He inaugurated 910 projects, laid foundation stones of 13 projects, distributed free laptops among 26,000 students, and gave cheques to 91, 125 beneficiaries of the Samajwadi Pension scheme, Economic Times reported.

On Tuesday, The Samajwadi party leader inaugurated hospitals, housing projects, swimming pools, a hockey stadium, roads and infrastructure across several districts, educational institutions and bus stations.

Oppositions claimed that most of the projects are far from completion. BSP leader Mayawati called him as a “man in hurry”, who is rushing through half complete projects” and threatened action against officials in charge of such projects if she was voted to power, Business Standard reported.

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Vijay Goel said, ” “To beat EC deadline, Akhilesh is launching incomplete projects.”

Dismissing the allegations, Akhilesh said “Most of these projects will be complete and available for public use in the next few months. But since it will be after the election notification, government can’t inaugurate them.”

Akhilesh began his ribbon cutting spree with opening of the Agra-Lucknow Expressway on November 21.
