Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) housing scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narender Modi on June 17, 2015. This progressive scheme was launched in order to provide and empower people of their own house. This scheme aims to provide housing for all by 2022 at affordable prices.

The main motive of the scheme is to provide benefits to the women, economically weaker groups of Indian society, Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribes.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) for Lower Income Group/ Economically Weaker Section (LIG/EWS) and Middle Income Group (MIG – I & II).

Benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

  • Interest subsidy rate of 6.5 per cent of housing loan will be provided for 15 years.
  • Differently abled people and old people will be given the advantage of ground floor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
  • During construction, eco-friendly and sustainable technologies will be used.

 

Income Criteria

  • 0-25000 per month: Any component can be selected
  • 25001-50000 per month: Only CLSS/LIG/EWS can be selected
  • 50001 – 1,00,000 per month: CLSS MIG-I
  • 1,00,001 – 1,50,000 per month: CLSS MIG-II

Payment

Application fee of Rs 25 along with the tax to be paid to Common Service Centre (CSC)

 

How to Apply

  • Application form can be obtained on the official website of PMAY (pmaymis.gov.in)
  • Anyone having income group more than 50,000 per month is not eligible to fill the form. People opting for Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme are requested to approach the bank.

 

Whom to contact

The applicants can contact their division’s municipality who is in-charge of the PMAY (U).
