Pulwama Attack: Martyr Kulwinder Singh was set to marry this November

Kulwinder the only child of his parents was getting married on November 8.

The 44 CRPF men who died in the brutal Pulwama terror attack had left the nation in shock. Terror attack happened when a CRPF convoy going from Jammu to Srinagar with 78 vehicles in the convoy and amongst more than 2500 jawans were present in the vehicles, 40 jawans were targeted by the militants. The terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed rammed a vehicle carrying 350 kg of explosives into the CRPF bus killing 44 CRPF men.

The most affected from this incident are the families of the Martyred. The people of Rauli village in Nurpur Bedi area was left in shock when the news of the death of 26-year-old Kulwinder Singh in the Pulwama terrorist attack reached his home.

Kulwinder has joined his duty from Feb 10 after spending 10 days leave at home. His father Darshan Singh said that Kulwinder was his only child and he was getting married on November 8.

During his leave, he had started building additional rooms in the house. The last time my son talked to me over the phone was on February 12. He had discussed the arrangements for his marriage,” he said.

He told that he got a call regarding the incident from the unit but was not informed about Kulwinder’s death. It was later when the list of Martyrs came; he got to know about his son.

As the news of Kulwinder’s death broke to the villagers, they flocked to his home to condole the family. The residents of Nurpur Bedi area conducted a candle march to pay tribute to the martyrs.
