At a scuffle between policemen and locals of Hakima Gate area (Amritsar), two police personnel sustained injuries. The incident occurred after a scuffle broke down due to Bittu Shah’s arrest. Bittu, who was arrested for possessing narcotics, according to his family lost his life while in the police custody.
As quoted by EenaduIndia, Superintendent of Police, JS Walia said, “We have started investigating the matter. A doctors board will be made which will do a post-mortem of the deceased. The culprit won’t be spared”.
The members of Bittu’s family have demanded severe action against the accused.
