Purnea University Result row update: Demanding the immediate publication of the part 3 results, the students organised a protest against Purnea University’s decision to withheld the result due to a quarrel with the B N Mandal University.
The protesting students claimed that the quarrel between both the universities started to affect the lives of the students as they are now unable to apply for any postgraduate programmes with the results being withheld.
According to reports, the Purnea University owes BNMU, Madhepura dues of Rs 3 crore in the form of fee deposits by students during the examination form filling process for the different examinations conducted by the BNMU as part of the arrangements approved by Chancellor.
However, all the backlog of examinations were to be cleared by the BNMU which was also maintained later by an order of the Patna High Court.
The examination fee according to a few of the reports which were submitted by the students has not been transferred to BNMU and whenever a pending examination gets underway a new argument over the payment of the fee begins and the examination schedule gets disrupted.
While the Purnea University allowed its students to apply online for the postgraduate courses as appearing candidates, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Purnea University has assured students that the university is trying to sort out the problem.
