The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party demanded an inquiry into the Rafale Deal to unveil the truth following former French President Francois Hollande’s statement on India’s role in including Reliance in the deal.

Hollande on Friday in a conversation with French media revealed that Indian government proposed Anil-Ambani-led Reliance Defence as Dassault Aviation partner in the Rafale jet fighter jet deal with France and that they were given no other choice to seal the deal.

“We did not have any choice in the selection of Ambani, Indian govt proposed Reliance. We worked with the interlocutor that was given,” said Hollande.

DMK President MK Stalin called PM Narendra Modi accountable to the people of India and tweeted, “PM Modi promised a transparent corruption-free government but former French President Hollande’s interview shows that the Rafale deal is suspect,” writes Stalin in his tweet.

Stalin also suggested that a full-fledged inquiry should be ordered to find the truth into the matter. Earlier Congress President Rahul Gandhi had renewed his attack on the Central government over the Rafale deal.

“We did not have a say in this, The Indian government proposed this service group, and Dassault negotiated with Ambani. We did not have a choice, we took the interlocutor who was given to us. That is why on the other hand, this group did not have to give me any thanks for anything. I could not even imagine that there was any connection to a film by Julie Gayet,” said Francois Hollande in a conversation with French media.
