Bihar election 2020: In an open letter, LJP Chief Chirag Pawan said although he wanted to meet party workers in the run-up to the Assembly elections, he could not do so because he had to be by the side of his father (Union food and consumer affairs minister Ram Vilas Paswan) is admitted to a hospital ICU.

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan wrote an open letter to party workers on Sunday saying. “Papa is sick and is in ICU. I can not leave him.” According to Chirag, his father Ram Vilas has been ignoring his health and was admitted to the hospital on August 28th on his advice.

According to the letter, Ram Vilas is under treatment for the last three weeks. Chirag wrote an emotional note in the letter and said, “I am in the hospital, watching papa fighting against the disease. I also get disturbed to see him on the hospital bed. Papa told me to go to Patna and meet the workers, but I cannot leave him alone in ICU.”

It should be noted that Chirag clarified that there has been no conversation regarding seat-sharing with any party or leader so far. According to Chirag, the 2015 alliance between JDU and RJD was different and the seven-point programme was Nitish Kumar’s decision and not of NDA. He said LJP workers will work on the independent agenda of Bihar first, his party workers will go to their constituencies and work for the LJP candidates in his absence.

Chirag asserted there was no negotiation with NDA partners, BJP and JDU, on seat sharing. Last week, Ram Vilas was admitted to the hospital with the full support of his son Chirag.
