Ramayana 2026 First Look

Ramayana Part 1 Trailer Out: The wait is finally over as the official trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 has been released, giving audiences their first detailed look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The visually spectacular trailer has received widespread praise for its scale, VFX and background score by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled to release in theatres during Diwali 2026.

Ramayana Part 1 Trailer Out

The Ramayana: Part 1 trailer starts out kinda serene but still powerful with Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama presented as calm righteous and very steady. It shifts fast to the ominous rise of Yash’s Ravana. Sai Pallavi as Sita shows up with grace and real emotional weight, and then you get quick glimpses of Ayodhya and that golden city of Lanka. The whole thing is packed with stunning visual effects, wide sweeping battle action, heartfelt high pressure scenes and a truly stirring background score by Hans Zimmer plus A.R. Rahman.

Instead of laying out every big character clearly, the teaser keeps drilling the tension that builds between Rama and Ravana, and it ends on this intense note that just cranks up anticipation for the epic journey while still holding back key figures like Hanuman.

Why Isn’t Hanuman Ji in the Trailer?

Despite being one of the most anticipated characters in the film, Sunny Deol’s Hanuman is absent from the nearly four-minute trailer.

The makers have not issued an official explanation. However, entertainment reports and fan discussions suggest that the omission may be a deliberate creative decision to preserve the impact of Hanuman’s first on-screen appearance.

Given that Ramayana is planned as a two-part saga, many believe Hanuman’s role will become much more prominent in Part 2, where the Vanara Sena, the search for Sita and the war against Ravana take centre stage.

Fans React: “Where Is Hanuman?”

Soon after the trailer dropped, social media platforms were flooded with reactions.

While viewers praised the visuals, performances and the grand cinematic scale, many also expressed disappointment that Hanuman was not shown even briefly.

One user wrote, “The Ramayana trailer looked good, but yaar… Hanuman Ji ka ek glimpse bhi nahi,” while another posted, “NO HANUMAN IN TRAILER.” Fans of Sunny Deol questioned why one of the epic’s most beloved characters had been left out of the trailer despite being officially announced as part of the cast.

“Interestingly, they haven’t shown anything related to the Vanara Sena or Hanuman.” The user appreciated the overall visual effects but added that Kumbhkaran looked “a bit cartoonish.”

Another wrote, “Visuals acha hai. Isme koi complain nahi honi chahiye… lekin trailer ka 1st half me ekdum generic BGM. Koi dum nahi. Plus I can’t believe they didn’t show Hanuman ji even once?”

Others defended the decision, arguing that the filmmakers may be saving the reveal for a future teaser or the film itself to maximise its emotional impact.

Is Sunny Deol Part of Ramayana?

Yes. Sunny Deol has been officially cast as Lord Hanuman in Ramayana. His absence from the trailer does not indicate that the character has been removed from the film. The promotional material released earlier by the makers and the officially announced cast confirm his involvement.
