The History of Ravenclaw Pride Day

One of the most fascinating and illustrious educational institutions of all time—the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, of which the Ravenclaw House makes up one-fourth—captivated our interest in the “Harry Potter” universe that J.K. Rowling created.

Four famous wizards of their time allegedly established Hogwarts: Rowena Ravenclaw, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, and Salazar Slytherin. Each of these four progenitors is commemorated in the name of Hogwarts House. Ravenclaw, specifically, was endowed with the most emotionally distressing of all houses’ backstories.

Rowena Ravenclaw, recognized for her intellect, ingenuity, and aesthetic appeal, co-founded Hogwarts with three of her contemporaries. It appears that this intimate companion of co-founder Helga Hufflepuff was also involved in the determination of Hogwarts’ name and location. A dream in which Ravenclaw saw a pig covered in warts, according to legend, guided her to the cliff of a lake. She was additionally credited with designing the intricate corridors of Hogwarts, which perplexed numerous unfortunate pupils, and its erratic staircases, which, on any given day, lead either nowhere or everywhere.

Collaborating with her co-founders, Ravenclaw instructed at Hogwarts, showing special affection for students who possessed exceptional intelligence and a diligent disposition. She instructed her daughter, Helena, as well. Helena, who had been unfortunate enough to contract the green-eyed bug, harbored envy regarding her mother’s notoriety and widespread appeal. Helena desired for all to see that she was more intelligent and influential than her mother.

A diadem, which was possessed by Ravenclaw and was said to augment the wearer’s wisdom, would become Helena’s fixation. She was compelled to steal the diadem out of envy, with the expectation that it would bestow upon her more opulent gifts than her mother ever received. Her bereaved mother concealed her deeds from the other Hogwarts founders as she fled to Albania, refusing to reveal the nature of her daughter’s transgressions. The resultant enigma at Hogwarts became known as the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw.

Ravenclaw did dispatch Roman Ungern von Sternberg, a Hogwarts student, in pursuit of her daughter Helena, with the request that he ensure her safe return. Sandberg, who had harbored feelings for Helena for a considerable period, eagerly accepted the opportunity to reunite with her. Helena immediately rejected his entreaty to return to Scotland and Hogwarts after he pursued her to an Albanian forest. Stenberg was so enraged by Helena’s denial that he committed her murder immediately, becoming cognizant of his error after the commission of the act. Stenberg, overcome with remorse and sorrow, aimed his weapon at himself and perished in the exact location where he had lost his beloved.

Stenberg and Helena ultimately returned as spirits, promptly proceeding to Hogwarts to afflict its corridors in the capacity of the house ghosts associated with their respective houses. Helena portrayed ‘The Grey Lady’ at Ravenclaw, while Sternberg embodied ‘Bloody Baron’ at Slytherin.’ People believe that Ravenclaw died shortly after her daughter betrayed her, suffering from a shattered heart.
