RBI Holiday List in March 2026:As March 2026 approaches, customers across India are gearing up for another packed schedule of bank holidays. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) official holiday calendar for 2026, banks both public and private will observe a series of closures in March tied to festivals, regional observances and weekly offs.
Why Banks Are Closed in March?
The RBI announces an annual holiday calendar every year under the Negotiable Instruments Act, which specifies all the days when banks will not operate their regular branch services. The March 2026 closures result from national festivals, regional celebrations, and statutory weekly holidays which include both Sundays and mandatory Saturday offs which occur on the second and fourth Saturdays.
