Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav got an extended provisional bail till August 20 on the health grounds on Friday. Lalu Yadav had come out on a parol on May 10, for three days to attend his son Tej Pratap Yadav’s wedding ceremony. After wedding senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Prabhat Kumar had requested Ranchi High Court to extend the provisional bail for 12 weeks on health grounds, though the Court approved the bail for six weeks. The next hearing on Prasad’s bail will be on August 17.
Health issues
Lalu Yadav has been suffering from health issues of late. He went through an operation in June after which the doctor had prescribed him to take proper rest for the next three months. He is being treated in a Mumbai hospital.

Previous records
Lalu Yadav is undergoing several health issues including high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney, and heart issue. During parol, Prasad had visited hospitals in Mumbai and Bengaluru for treatment with his daughter Meesha, son Tej Pratap and daughter-in-law Aishwarya.
Prasad is convicted in fodder scam case by Special CBI Court on March 2018 for swindling of Rs 3.13 crore. Since December 2017, he has been in Birsa Munda Central jail.
