In wake of Republic Day celebrations and Bharat Parv 2019, Red Fort in national capital will remain close for the public and general visitors from the morning of January 22 till January 31, 2019.

As per directions of Archaeological Survey of India under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, the 17th century monument will re-open on January 31.

On January 23, there will be a full dress rehearsal and will have the same route as that of the parade on Republic Day. The rehearsal will start at 9:50 AM from Vijay Chowk and will head to the Red Fort. Elaborate security arrangements have already been made for the big event and thirty face-recognition cameras will be installed at the venue of Republic Day celebrations in Delhi that will help officers identify terrorists and criminal elements.

Due to celebrations, Parade rehearsals and security reasons, transportation is hampered in the capital. In order to facilitate smooth passage of the Parade, movement of traffic on certain roads leading to the route of the Parade will be restricted.
