The 71st Republic Day celebrations will be celebrated across the country with great pomp on Sunday. On this occasion, brave soldiers who have faced terrorists will be honored. President Ramnath Kovind will confer the Shaurya Chakra to Lieutenant Colonel Jyoti Lama, Major KB Singh, Subedar N Singh, Naik S Kumar, and Sepoy K Oraan.

The medals and awards belong to different categories and would be distributed at the official function of the parade on January 26.
This also includes a total of 286 gallantry awards. Others include 4 President’s Police Medal for gallantry, 93 President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services and 657 Police Medals for Meritorious Services.
The highest number of President’s Police Medal for Gallantry and Police Medal for Gallantry have been bagged by the jawans in Jammu and Kashmir, most of which are CRPF personnel.
