West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday addressed a massive rally in Lucknow against government’s demonetisation move.
Asking people to give a fitting reply to the government in the UP election, Mamata said “respond to notebandi with vote bandi”.
She also dared Modi to conduct a secret ballot among BJP workers to know if they actually support the demonetisation move.
Mamata pulled out two Rs 500 notes in the middle of the rally and explained the inconsistencies in the design.
She further compared government’s decision to Mohammed Bin Tuglaq’s regime. She also said that demonetisation has shut shops, agricultural and market operations.
“You have not acted against those stashing black money abroad but snatch people’s money back home,” she added.
Uttar Pradesh ministers Pawan Pandey and Arvind Kumar Singh also participated in the rally.
Mamata has planned a country-wide agitation against the demonetisation move. Her next rally would be in Patna.
