A right-wing group on Friday demanded to scrap Article 370 that grants special autonomous status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, they also asked the country to take the initiative to declare Pakistan a terrorist state. This outfit believes that providing a special status to Jammu and Kashmir was nothing but discrimination among the states of India.

Deepak Bhardwaj, President, Punjab Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti said, “This must be shelved at the earliest by scrapping Article 370 to halt the growing attacks on security forces in J&K,”.

Bhardwaj, reminding the Modi government said that it had come to power on the agenda of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, uniform civil code, and the scrapping of Article 370. He added that, while the first two agendas are being worked on, the third issue was being sidelined under pressure of Mehbooba Mufti’s government in J&K.

He also demanded that surgical strikes against cross-border terror should continue to occur, in order to check terrorism. Bhardwaj argued that non-Kashmiris should be allowed to buy property in J&K while the Hindus uprooted from the state should be rehabilitated there for bringing Kashmir into the national mainstream.
