The winner of the thirteenth season of the singing competition programme Indian Idol has been revealed. Rishi Singh of Ayodhya topped the singing competition. He had to defeat Debosmita Roy of Kolkata in order to win the coveted trophy and Rs 25 lakh in prize money.

This season’s judges were Himesh Reshammiya, Vishal Dadlani, and Neha Kakkar, and the presenter was Aditya Narayan. On Sunday, April 2, the contestants made the mausam musicana one final time with their melodious vocals. By winning the fantasy finale, Rishi was awarded the winner’s trophy as well as a brand-new Maruti Suzuki Techy Brezza.

Bidipta Chakraborty, Sonakshi Kar, and Debosmita Roy from Kolkata, Chirag Kotwal from Jammu and Kashmir, and Shivam Singh from Vadodra were among the top six contestants.

Speaking about his journey and how his music has repeatedly struck a chord with so many people, Rishi Singh had previously said: “Indian Idol brought out a better version of me; from being no one to helping me become someone that people recognise and shower me with so much love – this musical journey has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride, and I am grateful for the same. I will work even harder to obtain the trophy, not only for myself and my family, but also for everyone who has supported me.”

Debosmita Roy from Kolkata, who had won millions of hearts with her simplicity and unending love for her parents, said, “I can’t believe I had the chance to perform on such a large stage in front of all the judges and special guests. It is a great achievement for me to see the smile and the pride in my parent’s eyes. When my name was announced as one of the finalists, it felt like I had already won the trophy. I owe it all to them.”
