How the Scheme Will Work?
Under the approved policy:
- Eligible individuals and their families can seek cashless inpatient (IPD) treatment up to Rs 5 lakh without upfront payments.
- The plan covers both public and empanelled private hospitals, ensuring widespread access across the state.
- A district-level verification system is being set up to authenticate beneficiaries, especially teachers from self-financed schools Committees led by district education officials will oversee this process.
The CM described it as “a symbol of the government’s gratitude for teachers’ contributions.”
In his address, the CM said, “The teachers across the state must continue to perform their best for the education of the children while we assure them of full government support.”
The state-sponsored program exists as an additional safety net for educators and education workers because its purpose differs from national health programs which include Ayushman Bharat.
