RSS Iftar party ‘pure hypocrisy’, says Shiv Sena

Latest in the spate of its tirades against its alliance partner in Mahasrashtra, the Shiv Sena lashed out at BJP and RSS’ plan to hold an iftar party, calling it ‘pure hypocrisy’. Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), a Sangh affiliate, has planned the Muslim outreach programme. MRM has sent out invites to 140 countries.

Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande also questioned the BJP and RSS’ criticism of the Congress when it had earlier tried to do the same.

“This is pure hypocrisy from BJP-RSS. They used to criticise Congress for organising iftar parties,” said Shiv Sena.

The Shiv Sena also slammed BJP and RSS for losing the ‘Hindutva Agenda’.

“It is surprising that such Iftar parties are organised by the RSS, but at the same time, not surprising also, because the RSS and the BJP seem to be losing the Hindutva agenda,” Kayande said.

“Even the Ram Mandir issue, on which this party rose from two MPs to 181, has now been abandoned by them and they are calling it a cultural program. This is hypocritical on the party’s side,” she added.

From calling Modi a traitor to slamming the BJP for “its failure to prevent Kiarana”, the hardline right-wing party has appeared keen to break away from the ruling alliance in Maharashtra.
