SA20 Season 2 Schedule: Cricket fans can expect to be enthralled when the eagerly awaited second season of the SA20 begins on January 10, 2024, in Gqeberha and ends with an electrifying Final on February 10, 2024.

As each of the six competing clubs will host a home match during the first week of the competition, this cricket bonanza guarantees thrilling action. A total of 34 games will be played over the season in six notable South African sites.

The schedule’s reliability in starting at the same times is a remarkable aspect. The start of midweek matches will be at 17:30 local time, giving viewers and fans the best possible evening experience. Furthermore, games on Sundays will start a little earlier, at 15:30 local time.

Double headers will only be played on Saturdays as part of the organisational approach, providing supporters with an action-packed day to enjoy. This streamlined model guarantees that on weekends, fans will be exposed to back-to-back exciting encounters.

Changes to the playoff format

The playoff system has changed, but the tournament structure is still the same as it was in the first season, with each of the six teams playing every other club twice.

The SA20 will adopt the qualifier-eliminator strategy for its second season. The first qualifier pits the top two teams from the league stage against one another, with the winner advancing directly to the championship game. The third- and fourth-placed teams will compete in an eliminator simultaneously in an effort to advance.

In Qualifier 2, which will decide the second finalist, the team that wins the eliminator will play the losing team from the first qualifier. This modification to the playoff format adds an element of surprise and guarantees that even the third- and fourth-place teams will have a chance to compete for a spot in the championship game.
