Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s film, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ created history by earning Rs 8.40 on the first day of its release on Friday. The film faced the biggest opening with Rs 8.40 Cr in India in all languages.

The biopic is about one of the most loved living legends of cricket, and it shows a major throwback to those days when the nation used to go crazy to see him play. Tendulkar’s biopic has released in 2400 screens in India and 400 screens overseas.

According to updates on morning shows, the film saw almost 40% occupancy in most places, which is fairly good for a Friday release. The movie seems to have finally replaced Bahubali 2, which has taken the industry by storm so far.

Sachin Tendulkar has become the first Indian to have a biographical drama on his life journey where he portrays his own role. He is the new addition in the league of Mohammad Ali, Ayrton Senna, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jordan, who have such biographical dramas to their credit.

Sachin succeeds to charm his fans with his performance in the film and it is reported that people start chanting ‘Sachin Sachin’ in the theatres. Such biographical dramas tend to inspire people, apart from providing entertainment.

James Erskine has written and directed the film. The film shows the insights on Sachin Tendulkar’s life from his family. For the first time, his family, his mother, brother, wife, are seen talking about the cricket legend.
