New Delhi: Income Tax officer Sanjay Kumar Mishra is appointed as Interim Enforcement Directorate chief for 3 months. The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the decision.
Earlier on Friday Karnal Singh term ended and this new appointment was likely and due after it was clear that Singh is not getting any extension of his term.
This is a maiden time that an Indian Revenue Officer is taken over as the ED Chief. The newly appointed ED chief is a 1984 batch income tax officer and was serving as the chief commissioner in New Delhi.
