Shah Rukh Khan Upcoming Movies: Zero, Don 3, Dhoom 4 and other future releases

King of Romance, Badshah of Bollywood, King Khan; Shah Rukh Khan has earned a barrage of remarkable nicknames in his career spanning over two decades. The 53-year-old owes his colossal success to his fans who turned him into a superstar.

SRK is not just an actor but a brand. But last few years have been tough for Shah Rukh Khan, the actor.

His films are not faring exceptionally well at the box office as expected from a star of his stature. Meanwhile, his contemporaries Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are constantly putting up a better show. Shah Rukh’s release, Jab Harry Met Sejal in 2017 bit the dust at the ticket windows. Nevertheless, his stardom remains remarkably unaffected with movie buffs remaining upbeat about Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movies. And why not as SRK’s future releases boast of an interesting mix.

From confirmed ones Zero and Don 3 to tentative projects Dhoom 4 and Vikram Vedha Remake, the glorious movies list has it all.

Here’s Shahrukh Khan upcoming movies list for the years 2018 and 2019 with release dates.

1. Zero

25 Bollywood movies to look forward in 2018

For the first time in his 25 years of acting, Shah Rukh will be essaying the role of a dwarf in filmmaker Anand L Rai’s Zero. It will also see the actor in a double role, one being the dwarf. The much-anticipated projected also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in key roles. The three had previously worked together in 2012’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan helmed by late director Yash Chopra. Untitled Anand L Rai film is slated to release on December 21, 2018.

2. Don 3

Don is one of the most successful movie franchises in Bollywood. It started with multifaceted Farhan Akhtar remaking 1978 superhit Don starring Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman in 2006 with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. The remake titled Don: The Chase Begins Again with a massive plot twist was well-received by the audiences, paving a way for its sequel. Don 2 released in 2011, turning out to be a critical and commercial success. The makers have hinted about the third film of the Don series to be in pipelines. There are strong rumours about actress Deepika Padukone replacing Priyanka in Don 3.

3. Dhoom 4

Since the release of first Dhoom film in 2004, the Indian buddy-cop-action franchise keeps getting grander. After fighting John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan in first three films, police officers Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra could face their biggest villain in form of Shah Rukh Khan (provided the duo manage to retain their roles). We all swear by King Khan’s villainous roles (Darr, Baazigar, Anjaam and even, as Don). Seeing him as a baddie in Dhoom 4 is definitely on top of every cinephile’s wish list.

4. Vikram Vedha Remake

There are reports of Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha starring Shah Rukh Khan floating on the internet. Tamil blockbuster featured R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. While Vikram Vedha producers have confirmed of not selling rights of the remake yet but if the rumours turn out to be true, it will go down as first South film remake King Khan has ever worked in. It is high time SRK follows his coevals Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar who have worked in several remakes.

5. Rajkumar Hirani’s Next

Shah Rukh declined Rajkumar Hirani’s movies Munnabhai and 3 Idiots for unknown reasons. But it looks like the superstar actor is finally all set to join hands with one of the country’s finest filmmakers. Hirani who has given blockbusters with another Khan, Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots and PK has again expressed his desire to work with SRK. The reports suggest the director has zeroed down on the concept and official announcement to be on the way.

6. Kabir Khan’s Next

Kabir Khan’s relations with Shah Rukh dates back to school and college days. The two have collaborated for a short film for Dubai tourism titled Be My Guest. Shah Rukh also made a cameo appearance in Kabir’s last release, Tubelight with Salman Khan in the lead. There have been talks around the two coming together for a feature film. “Shah Rukh and Kabir are very keen on doing a feature film; they go back a very long way,” says the source. We have our fingers crossed.

Apart from working with top-notch directors for the first time, Shah Rukh Khan is also keen on teaming up with his filmmaker friends. The rumour mills suggest the actor wanting to work with Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Aditya Chopra, with whom he has given blockbuster films in the past. We hope fans of the actor would be excited over his upcoming movie releases.
