Congress leader Shashi Tharoor sends a legal notice to Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday, sueing him against a false and defamatory remark on October 28, 2018. Shashi Tharoor shared a copy of the legal notice on defamation on his Facebook account.

He writes, “Legal notice to Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice, for false and defamatory statements made against Dr. Shashi Tharoor, MP on October 28, 2018.”

Ravi Shankar Prasad had said, “A clear and impartial reading of the statements made by Dr Shashi Tharoor during his speech on the occasion of Bengaluru Literature festival on last Sunday would reveal without leaving any room for doubt that Dr Shashi Tharoor was referring to an old news article published in the magazine ‘Caravan’ in the year 2012 named ‘The Emperor Uncrowned’ wherein the author of the article, journalist, Mr. Vinod Jose, has ended the article by quoting an unnamed source in the RSS that to them Mr Narendra Modi is like a Scorpion sitting on a Shiv Linga.” This according to Shashi Tharoor is a clear misunderstanding as well as a false, malicious and defamatory statement made against him.
