Soon after BJP president, Amit Shah formed the three-minister panel to discuss possible candidates for presidential election, actor-turned-politician and Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday forwarded the party’s patriarch L K Advani’s name for the ruling alliance’s presidential candidate.
“As the D-day for the Presidential election draws close, I strongly echo the views of Advani Ji’s admirers and well-wishers. He is clearly the most suitable, learned, respectable, experienced, desirable and deserving candidate for the most prestigious post,” Shatru said in a series of Tweets.
“I sincerely hope, wish and pray that good sense prevails on one and all, and the ‘Pitamah’ of BJP is bestowed upon with the honour that he most richly deserves,” Sinha tweeted. Sinha, in another tweet, said he received a “lovely touching message” from a highly concerned and patriotic gentleman after he posted his tweet on meeting with Advani on Monday. However, he refused to reveal the name of the ‘patriotic gentleman’. But he shared the ‘lovely message’ in another series of tweets.
The ‘patriotic gentleman’ wrote to Sinha, “I often think how the most deserving PM candidate has been ruthlessly sidelined from playing his role. He (Advani) has never been given any chance to show the country and the world what he could have done for us. Nobody in BJP or outside BJP can challenge his experience.”
