Sheena Bora case:  CBI claims property as main motive behind the murder

Central Bureau of Investigation prosecutor Bharat Badami, opening his argument against Peter Mukerjea, his wife Indrani Mukerjea, and Indrani’s former husband Sanjeev Khanna for their alleged role in the Sheena Bora murder case, told the court that property was the main reason behind eliminating Sheena.

“Indrani thought that if Sheena got married to Rahul, then the entire property would go to them as Peter was very fond of his son,” the prosecutor said.

“Indrani thought that if Sheena became her daughter-in-law, then it would spoil her reputation in the society,” he added.

Sheena Bora was allegedly murdered in 2012. The case came to limelight when the driver of Indrani was arrested in 2015.

Badami called Indrani’s former husband Khanna as a spiderman, who quickly visited Mumbai to execute the plan.

Emphasising on how Peter was aware about the conspiracy, the prosecutor said “These days, even when dogs go missing people lodge a complaint. So how did he not do anything? He was powerful and knew some top cops. When his son was telling him to do something about Sheena’s disappearance, he did not take any step.”

The prosecutor pointed to email conversations, messages and phone conversations exchanged among the family members as evidence to prove the role of accused in the murder.

Arguments in the case will continue on Tuesday, Times of India reported.
