Social Security Update: Each month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) issues millions of checks to beneficiaries, most of whom are retired workers and disabled individuals.

Beneficiaries receive their checks every second Wednesday of the month, depending on their birthdays. Those born between January 1st and October 10th receive their checks on the second Wednesday of each month.

On the third Wednesday of the month, checks are sent to recipients born between the 11th and 20th of the month, and on the last Wednesday of the month, checks are sent to recipients born between the 21st and 31st of the month.

It does not apply to workers who retired before May 1997 or SSI beneficiaries, as they receive their payments in the first few days of the month.

For the upcoming month of June, the checks will be sent out earlier if the payment date falls on a weekend or holiday.

SSI beneficiaries will be affected by the first change, whereas those born between 11th and 20th will be affected by the second change.

June’s Social Security payment schedule changes

Since the regular payment date falls on a weekend, SSI beneficiaries will receive their payment at the end of June rather than at the beginning of the month.

The payment for June will be issued on Friday, May 31st, which means SSI recipients will not receive a payment in June.

Additionally, beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of the month will see a change in their payment date. Instead of Juneteenth Day, which is a federal holiday, their payments will be issued on Tuesday, June 18th.
