Bijendra Singh, a soldier-turned-ATM guard in Dehradun took initiative to teach underprivileged children from the nearby slums every day under the street light, outside the ATM where he guards.
On the pavement in front on the ATM, Bijendra teaches 24 children everyday using the street light and the filtered blue light coming from the ATM cubicle.
The kids coming from the poor background from the nearby slums and child labourers, gather around Bijender every evening as they know they are going to get something valuable – the gift of education.
Teaching since years now, Bijender has contributed his bit and has taught several kids, many of them having a decent job today.
This ATM guard in Dehradun is gaining humongous appreciation for the work he is doing for poor children. Even former cricketer VVS Laxman on Friday shared two photos of him, saluting him for his selfless act of teaching underprivileged children. Laxman tweeted –
Meet a true hero Brijendra , who works as a security guard at an ATM in Dehradun. Having retired from the army, he still continues to serve the nation, he teaches children from nearby slums in the evenings under the ATM lights. Salute to an incredible man ?? pic.twitter.com/vNobfOvBzH
