Sonakshi Sinha reacts to cheating allegations against her, says “complainant is maligning her image”

After it was reported on Friday that an FIR had been registered against Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha in connection to a case of cheating, Dabangg actor has clarified her stance in the matter, claiming that the complainant is trying to “malign her crystal clear image”.

Going by the reports, an event organiser named Pramod Sharma had filed a complaint against Sonakshi with the police in Moradabad in February 2018. In the complaint, he accused the Dabangg actor of not turning up for an event in New Delhi at the very last moment after accepting a booking amount of Rs 24 lakhs.

However, refuting the allegation, Sonakshi has released a statement on twitter which reads, “An event organiser who couldn’t live up to his commitment obviously thinks he can make a fast buck by maligning my crystal clear image in the press. There is full cooperation with the authorities from my end for the investigation to be conducted. Would request the media not to fan these bizarre claims of an unscrupulous man.”

Sonakshi was unable to record her statement, as she was not present at home when the police came. The team, which left after waiting for a few hours, is likely to return for questioning today.
