Janata Dal (United) has come down heavily on Congress President, Sonia Gandhi, after she invited JD(U) leader, Sharad Yadav in the Opposition meeting on Friday. JD(U) is alleging that she is trying to create a rift within the Nitish Kumar-led party.
“Calling our party members in a meeting of Opposition leaders reveals Sonia Gandhi’s wrong intentions. We already have broken our ties with UPA and Mahagathbandhan. By calling us she wants to create a rift between party members”, JD (U) general secretary, K C Tyagi said, as quoted by ANI.
The Congress chief has called a meeting of Opposition leaders on Friday morning in the national capital.
Controversy broke out earlier on Thursday after Sharad Yadav declared that he is still with the Grand Alliance of the RJD and Congress in Bihar.
This came after Nitish broke ties with the mahagathbandhan last month, and formed the new government in Bihar along with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
