South Goa Lok Sabha Constituency, Goa: Current MP, Candidates, Polling Date and Election Results

South Goa is one of the 2 constituencies in Goa to go on polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Tuesday, April 23. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Sawaikar is BJP’s candidate from the seat and he will contest against Cosme Francisco Caitano Sardinha of the Indian National Congress. Elvis Gomes is the Aam Aadmi Party.

The voting for Goa’s 2 parliamentary seats will take place in single phase elections for the 2019 General elections to April 23. The last phase will be held on May 19.

South Goa Lok Sabha constituency comprises of following Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Ponda, Shiroda, Marcaim, Mormugao, Vasco-Da-Gama, Dabolim, Cortalim, Nuvem, Curtorim, Fatorda, Margao, Benaulim, Navelim, Cuncolim, Velim, Quepem, Curchorem, Sanvordem, Sanguem, Canacona.

In Phase III of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies across 14 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 23. While, like all the other phases, counting will take place on May 23.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the third phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
