The Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav  sacked Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav from the party for six years. The announcement came less than an hour after chief minister Akhilesh Yadav sacked his uncle Shivpal Yadav from his council of ministers. Ram Gopal has said that being with Akhilesh means being with the winning side.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav earlier in the day sacked four ministers including his uncle Shivpal Yadav from the state cabinet. SP MLA Raju Yadav, after this decision, said that Akhilesh has warned in the meeting that whoever is close to Amar Singh cannot be in his cabinet.

After being expelled from the party Shivpal Yadav said that he did not bother about his expulsion and would go the polls next year under the leadership of Netaji.

There are reports that party may split and Akhilesh Yadav may float another party along with his supporters.

Samajwadi Party, general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav on Sunday wrote a one-page letter to party workers saying the future of the SP lay in Akhilesh Yadav. He went on further saying that people with Akhilesh were those who have spilled blood for the party and made great sacrifices whereas those who  minted crores and misused power were on the other side.

Mulayam Singh Yadav has reportedly said strict action will be taken against those trying to jeopardise party’s chances in the very crucial upcoming polls.

The differences between Akhilesh and his uncle Shivpal have become public since September. Party veterans met Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday to find some solution in what is now becoming an unending feud in the party’s top leadership.
