SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 Postponement: What the Official Notice Says?

The SSC notification states that the earlier scheduled CBT testing for Constable (GD) positions in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF and for Rifleman (GD) positions in Assam Rifles will no longer take place. The Commission confirmed that they will announce new dates at a later time.
Recruitment Details: Over 25,000 Vacancies
The SSC GD 2026 recruitment drive aims to fill 25,487 vacancies across multiple forces which include:
- BSF
- CISF
- CRPF
- SSB
- ITBP
- Assam Rifles
- SSF
- Narcotics Control Bureau
The recruitment cycle notification was published on December 1 2025. Organizations could submit their applications until December 31 2025.
New Exam Dates and Admit Card Updates

The Exam City Intimation Slip will be available to students from 8 to 10 days before their scheduled examination.
Admit Card: The document will be accessible 2 to 3 days before the candidate’s examination date.
Slot Booking: The examination process will not provide any options for selecting slots during this period.
Expected Exam Pattern (CBT)
The SSC GD Computer-Based Test will contain 80 multiple-choice questions which have a total score value of 160 points distributed across four test sections.

- English/Hindi
Candidates who pass the CBT examination will move to the PET/PST stage followed by medical examination and document verification processes.
