‘Superwoman’ star Lilly Singh said she’s taking a break from the platform to focus on her mental health. The Toronto native, known by her nickname ‘Superwoman’ said with eight years under her belt as a YouTube creator she’s found it difficult to keep producing quality videos twice a week and publishing video blogs as well.

“I’m gonna be real with y’all: I am mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. I have been doing YouTube consistently for eight years. For eight years, I have been putting out videos, and for a lot of those years, I’ve been doing it twice a week, plus daily vlogs. I’ve enjoyed it, I love it, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it has been a lot.”

Singh has been at the forefront of internet celebrities hoping to corner both online media and traditional platforms. She said that she was sacrificing her health and happiness in fear of becoming irrelevant.

After since the news broke out, Lilly’s fans responded with an outpouring of love and support for the vlogger. In fact, a fan went so far as to create a pie chart to show there is no chance the YouTuber would be forgotten during her time off.

Singh did not say how long she expects to be absent from her channel, but thanked her fans for their support after the announcement.
