The Bandra police, who are investigating the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, on Friday questioned two former senior officials of Yash Raj Films (YRF). According to police sources, Ashish Singh, who was former Vice President Production at YRF, and Ashish Patil, who was also with YRF earlier, were the two signatories on the contract that Sushant Singh Rajput had signed with YRF in 2012.
Police sources said that Ashish Singh’s statement was recorded for around five hours and he has provided details of the contract. He also shared details regarding association of Sushant with YRF till 2015.
When asked about details of the contract and Sushant’s exit from YRF, Ashish Singh told India Today TV, “I cannot divulge details of the contract as it is mentioned in the contract itself”. He added “The parting was on very cordial terms and we had been in touch after that. We made two films. Some projects, some films don’t work out. He had left YRF five years back and even after that we were in touch. There were no issues. We should pray for him.”
Patil was also questioned on details of the contract by Bandra police and other details on Sushant’s work and exit from YRF.
Earlier this week, police had received the contract copy signed between Sushant and YRF from YRF office. After studying the contract , the two former YRF officials were summoned.
With Ashish Singh and Ashish Patil, police has till date recorded statements of around 25 persons associated with Sushant.
Statements of Suhsant’s family members can be recorded again. Police officials said that the initial statements were recorded when the family was in state of shock and disturbed so some close family members can be called again to get some more details.
Publicist Rohini Iyer, who was a close friend of Sushant, met some senior police officials privy to investigation on Friday. Iyer recorded her statement on Monday at the Bandra police station.
