Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise has come as a shock for not only for his family and loved ones but also for Bollywood. The 34-year-old actor died by suicide at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
The police are investigating his death from various angles such as clinical depression and its treatment, professional rivalry, and so on.
As per the report in Mid-day, the actor before taking his life had cleared all his debts and even paid house helps and manager. He went on to say that he won’t be able to provide for them further due to financial reasons.
One of Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager told Bandra Police that he cleared off his dues three days before taking his own life.
The report state that a similar statement was given the Chhichhore actor’s house help who had then told the actor, “Aapne humara humesha dhyaan rakha hai, aap aise mat boliye, humlog kuchh na kuchh kar lenge. (You have always taken care of us. Don’t say such things. We will do something).”
A source told Mid-Day that the MS Dhoni: The Untold Story actor had been facing financial difficulties because he had lost out on projects and didn’t have much projects. “He was about to get a contract worth R14 crore for a web series with the help of his former manager, Disha Salian, who also committed suicide on June 8.”
A senior officer revealed that Sushant had spoken to Disha Salian in March twice about some project and her suicide plunged him into depression. “As per our investigation, Salian and Rajput spoke to each other twice in March on WhatsApp regarding some project. After that, there was no conversation between them.”
On Sushant not taking his medicines of late, an officer from Bandra Police said that the doctor issued a statement saying he was feeling better and stopped taking medicines 45 days ago. “We have only taken primary details from the doctor, a detailed statement has not been recorded. It will be recorded soon. As of now, there are no claims of financial issues by the family.”
