Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Movie Review: Chiranjeevi outshines in this war thriller

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy features star Chiranjeevi in lead roles of Kurnool-based freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, is no Baahubali in scale and execution.  The film achieves what it promises.

The story revolves around the unsung hero the perfect cocktail of machismo, patriotism and Chiranjeevi’s star power to make it as masses-friendly as possible.

Narasimha Reddy through the words of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi when her army, down on luck and outnumbered by the British, is contemplating surrounding.

Narasimha Reddy and how he struck fear in the hearts of the British, we are introduced to his story and we track his life from his early days as a young boy disturbed by the barbaric actions of the British. Young Narasimha Reddy tells his guru, played by Amitabh Bachchan, how badly he wants to kill the British.

He is advised against the idea and asked to build his mind as a weapon and soon Narasimha Reddy grows on to become a fearless warrior, a caring king, a noble husband and a voice the Britishers fear. The story follows how he inspired his own people to fight against the British and almost became invincible.

Chiranjeevi is surely a treat to the eyes to watch and among the supporting cast, it’s Tamannaah Bhatia who walks away with a fine performance. Sudeep and Vijay Sethupathi chip in with performances that are important from the story’s perspective.

Overall, director Surender Reddy still manages to impress and delivers a product that’s masses-friendly.
