#BoycottPatanjali and #Boycott_Patanjali started trending on Twitter on Monday, January 6. The netizens called for a boycott of Patanjali’s products in conjunction with the ongoing farmers’ protest and for selling “fake” honey.
For those who have been living under a rock, thousands of farmers are protesting against three recently passed Farm Acts. They have set up camps in and around Delhi.
From what we know thus far, the hashtags trending on Twitter is not a retaliation against any specific recent action by the company. Rather, because it has kept mum in recent days while enjoying the fruits of farmers’ labour.
Many netizens took it as an opportunity to target company over their COVID-19 “cure’ to allegations of selling adulterated honey.

Meanwhile, Baba Ramdev on Tuesday said that Patanjali has become a people’s movement for swadeshi, Yoga and Ayurveda, and rooting out foreign multi-national companies from the Indian market is his next target.
