The Tata Punch EV will compete with vehicles like the Citroen eC3. It will be positioned beneath the Nexon EV in Tata’s array of electric vehicles. This strategic positioning seeks to offer consumers an appealing SUV alternative to the Tigor EV sedan, which has garnered a significant share of sales in its X-Press T fleet form.

The Tata Punch EV will be equipped with Tata’s cutting-edge Ziptron drivetrain. It is anticipated that it will be the first Tata electric vehicle with a charging receptacle mounted on the front bumper, making the charging process more accessible and convenient for users.

Speculation suggests that the Punch EV will also feature four-wheel disc braking, a unique alloy wheel design, and a variety of electrifying styling updates that will set it apart from its petrol counterpart.

The Punch EV’s cabin will feature a variety of amenities, including the two-spoke steering wheel that made its début in the Nexon facelift. Tata Motors may also equip the Punch EV with the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has already impressed Nexon owners.

The Tata EV will be constructed on the ALFA platform and Tata’s gen-2 EV architecture, representing a remarkable ICE-to-EV transformation with significant modifications. Underneath, a liquid-cooled battery and a powerful permanent magnet synchronous motor will power the front axles, creating a thrilling electric driving experience.

Tata Motors may offer the EV with multiple battery sizes and charging options, allowing consumers to select from a range of customizable options.

The expected price range for the Tata EV is Rs 11.50-12.43 lakh (ex-showroom).
