Telangana: Rs 296 crore handed to 1,690,000 farmers on day 8 of Rythu Bandhu

On day 8 of the tenth phase of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, the Telangana government deposited Rs 296.85 billion into the bank accounts of around 1.69 million farmers.

On Thursday, a total of Rs 4,327,93 crore was put into the bank accounts of 54,7 lakh farmers, who cultivate around 5,93 lakh acres.

Agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy stated on this occasion that chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has implemented schemes like as Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima, which provide free electricity and water to farmers, and that the agriculture industry is India’s largest employment.

The minister added, “Over the past eight years, the Telangana government has invested Rs 3.5 lakh crore on the growth of the agriculture sector, catapulting Telangana into the league of the nation’s largest food producers.”

Niranjan Reddy noted that paddy production rose from 68 lakh tonnes in 2014 to 2.49 lakh tonnes in 2021-22, with total crop production reaching 3.5 lakh crore.
