Telangana: ‘Sanyas’ Challenge by KTR ahead of assembly polls

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader and caretaker minister of Information Technology (IT) and Industries, Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao popularly known as KT Rama Rao on Thursday has said that he will go on a self-imposed exile if TRS failed to form the government in the state in the upcoming assembly polls.

KTR dares other leaders to follow suit and throw up a ‘Sanyas’ challenge. Rao said, “Can Congress state president Uttam Kumar Reddy or anyone else takes up the challenge?”

The minister was interacting with media at Meet the Press programme organised by the Press Club of Hyderabad. KTR was explaining the work done under TRS rule in the state while answering the questions of journalists attending the event.

TRS confident of a comeback

He also said that this election is a referendum on the TRS administration and people will judge whether we have done the development of Telangana or not. He said, “You may consider this self-confidence or egotism but people of Telangana have made up their mind. All of them will vote in favour of K Chandrasekhar Rao led TRS government.”

KTR also attacked the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and called him an opportunistic person.

He said, “Naidu has joined hands with all the parties and sooner or later he will team up with Jagan Mohan Reddy.” He further added that TDP chief is such a moon who does not reflect any light.

KTR also attacked the work style of TDP Chief Minister for issuing ration cards from the CM’s office. He said, “The duty of the CM is to run the state smoothly with efficient planning and action. If he wastes his time in petty works how he will have time for pressing issues?”

TRS leader also welcomed the decision of the High Court’s interim order which allowed protests at Dharna Chowk. He said that his party is in total support of voices of dissent against the government.

He refused to make any comment about the speculation of two of his MLAs joining Congress and calls it ‘Nonsensical’. He said that such allegations don’t deserve any response.

What TRS government has done in the state?

The caretaker minister also stressed upon the work done by his government in the state. KTR said that if his government is voted to power again, his focus will be on the education and health sectors. He also claimed that how his government has laid a strong foundation in the agriculture sector and made the irrigation facility accessible to all. He said, “We tweaked the 2BHK housing scheme to provide money to landowners to construct houses.”

Tackling unemployment

On the question of Unemployment, KTR said that his government has adopted a three-pronged strategy to tackle the issue. Filling of Government jobs vacancies, creating self-employment opportunities and attracting investments in private sectors to create more job opportunities.

He said that his Government has created 8 lakh jobs in 8000 industries. He further added that the Finance department is working on filling up the 1.09 lakh job vacancies and 38000 have already availed the jobs.

Fearless KTR also challenged the other political leaders that if TRS is not back in power he will go on a self –imposed exile. He added that he is not scared of any leader, be it PM Modi or Congress president Rahul Gandhi or even God himself.
