At the Chief Minister’s Office, a selection committee was recently gathered to determine the 2022 Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship candidates.

As stated by Minority Welfare Secretary Syed Omar Jaleel, the selection process prioritised deserving candidates belonging to the Muslim, Christian, Sikh, and Jain communities, with selection predicated primarily on merit.

The evaluation of merit was conducted using academic performance, excluding GMAT and GRE scores. Distinct threshold scores were established for various genders and categories.

Advantages of the National Overseas Scholarship: Unlocking Opportunities

It is worth mentioning that the Buddhist and Parsi communities did not submit any applications, which resulted in the Sikh and Christian communities being granted access to their seats. A grand total of 250 applicants were chosen to be awarded the scholarship for 2022; 107 of them were female and 143 were male.

Syed Omar Jaleel emphasized that the selection process was conducted solely on the basis of merit and cautioned candidates against dealing with intermediaries concerning the scheme.

The Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme enables underrepresented students to attend international universities for postgraduate and doctoral studies.

Higher education can be pursued in a multitude of nations, such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, France, and South Korea.
