The Odyssey OTT Release: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has achieved a major box-office milestone, becoming the filmmaker’s highest-grossing movie ever after crossing the $1.1 billion mark worldwide. The epic, starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, continues its theatrical run.
The important update is that Universal Pictures has not officially announced an OTT streaming date for The Odyssey. As of August 13, 2026, the film remains primarily a theatrical experience. NBC’s official guide also confirms that the movie is currently available in theatres while recent reports continue to note the absence of a confirmed streaming date.
The Odyssey OTT Release Date: Has It Been Confirmed?
No. There is currently no officially confirmed OTT release date for The Odyssey. The film opened in cinemas on July 17, 2026, including India, and Christopher Nolan has strongly positioned the project as a large-format theatrical experience. The movie was shot entirely using IMAX film cameras and received extensive IMAX and premium-format screenings.
Where Will The Odyssey Stream?
Because The Odyssey is a Universal Pictures production, Peacock is the most likely eventual streaming destination in the United States. However, Universal has not officially announced the film’s Peacock premiere date.

Previous reporting has also pointed to Peacock as the expected streaming home, but the timing remains uncertain.
For viewers in India, the eventual streaming platform has not been officially confirmed either. Fans should therefore avoid relying on social-media posts claiming that a particular Indian OTT service has already acquired the movie.
Could The Odyssey Arrive on Digital Before OTT?
Yes, that is possible. Big theatrical releases commonly become available for digital rental or purchase before their subscription-streaming debut. However, Universal has not yet announced an official digital release date for Nolan’s film.
Some industry reports have speculated about a late-2026 home-release window. One recent report has claimed November 17, 2026 for digital and disc availability, but this date has not been confirmed by Universal and should therefore be treated as unofficial rather than a confirmed release date.

The Odyssey Becomes Christopher Nolan’s Highest-Grossing Film
The Odyssey has now crossed $1.1 billion globally, overtaking The Dark Knight Rises to become the highest-grossing film of Christopher Nolan’s career. The movie has also become a major success for IMAX.
That performance makes The Odyssey Nolan’s latest billion-dollar blockbuster following the success of The Dark Knight Rises and Oppenheimer.
What Is The Odyssey About?
From Homer’s old Greek epic, The Odyssey sort of runs after Odysseus played by Matt Damon, trying to get back to his home in Ithaca after the Trojan War that whole ordeal.
In the movie you get the huge lineup of characters and actors with Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson as well, Zendaya too, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron rounding it out.
Christopher Nolan wrote the film and also directed it with his long time collaborator Emma Thomas among the producers.
