A female giant panda’s abstract art is making to the headlines as the paintings will be sold for 490 euros ($560) each online. The cuddly panda named as Yang Yang has learned to use a brush to paint small pictures and 100 of them are being sold online to raise funds to produce a picture book about the Austrian zoo’s pandas.
Photographer Daniel Zupanc, who wants to make a picture book on the giant pandas at Vienna’s Schoenbrunn Zoo, is in dire need of funds as the production of a high-quality illustrated book is costly.
The book, if it is able to come through, will be released in December during Christmas, the official website of Schoenbrunn Zoo said.
Yang Yang’s abstract works are reminiscent of the first attempts of a small child- black splotches on white paper.
Vienna zoo’s painting panda Yang Yang has given birth to a set of twins over the years. Pandas have become endangered species with a population of less than 2,000 in the wild. Yang Yang is expected to help her kind with her twin babies.
