On Monday, legendary golfer Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under influence in Florida. As per media sources, Woods denied that he was not under the influence of alcohol and said that he had “an unexpected reaction to prescribed medication”. He was released a few hours after his arrest, Palm County Police report said.
A statement released by his spokesperson said that he had undergone back surgery last week. “What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications,” his statement said. “I did not realise the mix of medications had affected me so strongly. “I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself, too.”
Woods has promised to do“everything in my power to ensure this never happens again”.
Post surgery, Woods said that he was looking forward to the future as he got “instant relief” and had not “felt this good in years.”
His public image was damaged in 2009, as reports of his affairs with several women led to the end of his marriage, and he also lost several brand endorsement deals.
